Spa town with Thermae

Bad Reichenhall

A little Bavarian town to fall in love with

The spa town of Bad Reichenhall is a tranquil own, definitely worth a visit with its many shops, restaurants and bars. It is also described as the "Bavarian Merano" – thanks to its mild climate.

You can spend a day sightseeing and shopping here. The "Alte Saline" reveals the history of salt mining in the region. Various sacred buildings, including the Aegidikirche and the little church of St. Pankratz (on a cliff above Bad Reichenhall) are definitely worth a visit. There is also the monastery and Münster St. Zeno - a building dating from the 12th century. The royal Kurhaus and Kurgarten tempt you to linger for a while. Schloss Marzoll, Burg Gruttenstein and the Karlstein castle ruins on the Pankrazfelsen enchant with their architecture and medieval style.

Should you want to experience dreamy views across the Reichenhall Basin to Salzburg, then head out on a trip on the Predigtstuhlbahn to the 1583m Predigtstuhl.

Reber Mozartkugeln are world-renown too. Enjoy these and lots of different tarts and cakes in the company's headquarters based in the pedestrian area in Reichenhall.

Definitely worth a visit is Rupertus Therme with its natural Alpensole special brine in the water, various saunas and wellness offers.
